Is anyone else watching "The Unusuals"? It started last week and I find that I'm liking it so far. But I'm a big fan of Amber Tamblyn, and I really like the burgeoning partnership she has on the show, as well as the rest of the cast.

I watched "New Earth" andI still don't know how much I like Ten. On the one hand, it was a smart episode with all the call-backs to Rose and Nine's adventure while watching Earth explode -- the same spider-y things, Cassandra, Face of Boe, accepting death and evolution. And on the other, Rose spends most of it possessed, so it's hard to judge what the relationship between Rose and Ten is like. But Billie Piper was rather fabulous at playing Cassandra (the rear bumper part alone gets me every time... hee).
But I don't particularly like how Ten equates himself with a god, as the highest authority. Yeah, the cat nuns are wrong and doing horrible things, and he should be outraged and angry. But Nine -- the Doctor recovering after a time in which he HAD to play god and destroy his race and others -- would not assert his own authority in such a way; he'd do what needed to be done, without the self-aggrandizing aspect. He didn't want that responsibility, but he stood up and fought because no one else would, not because he thought he was necessarily above anyone else. I find Ten unnerving, and again I think it's funny that so many see Nine as the darker Doctor, when honestly, Ten freaks me out a bit.
Also, I was a little irritated that after saving the clones (with a really dumb idea -- didn't particularly buy the writing on that) he went straight to Boe and not Cassandra, because Rose was in danger of dying/being harmed by the psychograft, as he said earlier. I wish he had been more proactive (and productive) in helping her, rather than the whole "jump out of her" thing that he kept doing, only for both of them to almost get infected over and over again.

The Unusuals is on ABC, at 10pm on Wednesdays. I'm sure they have the two previous eps online! Watch so I have someone to talk about it with... I forgot how good she is!
