Phew... so this post-ep reaction is late because I'm finally back home after going to see the babies! And I just watched because dude, BSG vs. my niece and nephew? The babies win. And they're seriously SO adorable and full of personality at a week old, which is crazy...

Anyways, moving on to BSG...

 

Um, I'm already in love 15 min into the ep because all we've had is Kara/Sam awesomeness, and Ellen SUPER awesomeness (yes, my language skills are that good. Granted, I've gotten like sporadic hours of sleep due to aforementioned newborns, so cut me some slack ;) ).

Seriously, I adore the whole Kara/Sam dynamic this ep, and how protective and fiercely loving and loyal she was. This is Kara at her best, and Sam at his most heartbreaking... he just wanted answers, but she wanted him to live, even more than knowing everything. And his response, about the Demetrius? Oh Sam, I know you would help Kara regardless, but if the situation was turned, and you had a chance to save her life, I can't help but think you'd take it. That said, I think Kara would somehow kick your ass for trying, but you would do what she did. But then the end? With him brain dead? NO. I am hoping that Ellen and her awesomeness will fix it.

Btw, did anyone find it disconcerting that the dude from "The Daily Show" was Sam's doctor? I kept expecting bad things to happen. And also? I LOVE COTTLE. He is still my favorite secondary character without a doubt. There has never been anything to make me love him less.

Oh and I agree with Kara... she has to be something!  And this something is apparently beyond Sam's knowledge and Leoben's. Crap. I hope Ellen has answers.

As for Ellen, how calm and collected and fantastic was she? The way she treated the Centaurian alone was great. I'm still a mite confused about the logistics of Cavil's uprising against his creators and how he punished them by making them live amongst humans without knowing their identities, but the scene where he talks about how she made him into the sadist he is... dude. Isn't that what the mother of every sociopath goes through? And points for Boomer for coming through, though is it me or does Grace Park seem like she's sleep-walking through her scenes? Is that a deliberate choice?

And Saul and Caprica still ick me out, almost as much as her frakin' bad wig does... sigh.

Didn't really care so much about Adama, though I thought the whole ship falling apart at the bones metaphor worked nicely with how Adama/the old way of life isn't doing the job, and requires hybridization if they're all to survive. Same with Roslin and Lee's new quorum idea... the old guard stepping down, and a new one coming in. I was stricken when he washed his face; I was worried we were going to have to see his whole hygiene routine again.

I definitely need sleep... and Sam to get fixed. And Kara to find out what she is... either she's a hybrid or maybe she's somehow related to the one true god.

Dude, I love Cottle so damned hard. Especially when he was giving brain Doc guy his disgusted look. (dude, when COTTLE thinks your bedside manner sucks, you need help)

AND YES. Get sleep, but Sam needs fixing, Kara needs to know what she is... And then they need to hug or something.

Have you ever wanted to hug Kara so much? I love her and Cottle together, btw. They always bark at each other, but you can tell he totally gets her.

Ever since Grace Park had to do more than one copy of Sharon at a time, Boomer has always been... more blank, or something. So yeah, I think it's deliberate. (Besides, if you were sleeping with Cavil, wouldn't you want to be sleep-walking rather than conscious?)

Hmm.. I've never been a fan of Grace Park's acting... she just was never one of the stronger players on the show for me. Sigh.

Me too! I'm also worried about how much my post-partum hormone happy sister will cry when she sees Sam has been shot... she hasn't seen the last two eps but will soon. And she adores Sam...

Oh SAM. They have to fix him! I don't like the whole lingering brain dead thing. For some reason that's even more worrisome, because with death there's the slight hope of resurrection or something.

Yeah, I agree; it's hard to imagine him letting Kara come to any harm. Though he has such a strong faith in her that he might be conflicted? But I think that ultimately he'd come down on the side of saving her life.

And latteaddict pointed out that Kara has the memory of Zak to stop her from giving Sam what he wants/needs when it risks his life. Now, of course, she'll blame herself anyway.

Yeah... but is it wrong that I also see Kara either escaping the infirmary in that scenario, or holding a gun on everyone so she can finish finding her answers? Or both? Hee. And Sam would try to stop her, but she's so damn stubborn...

I have to agree with pretty much everything you said. I also thought Kara was being protective of Sam, but I also think she wanted to know what he was trying to say.

Is Sam's doctor the PC guy?

I was also excited to see Ellen back, although I have to say if I had seen the Centurion claw coming towards me I probably would have leapt to the other side of the room.

Boomer does seem asleep - no emotion whatsoever. I hoping that will change when she is back with the humans - as she appears to be going off to rendezvous with.

I'm afraid the Galactica is going to crack in half like the plane in Lost.

I forgot to add that I'm not sure what I think about Tigh and Caprica. I wonder if they're going to last now that Ellen is back. Although Caprica does earn points for seeming to keep Tigh out of trouble. He hasn't been self-destructive lately and he also didn't realize weeks had gone by without him taking a drink - and he didn't seem to care he couldn't have one.

The Tigh/Caprica thing freaks me out to no end. I kind of just wished for that scene to be over.

Tigh's drinking seems like it stopped a while ago, once he found out he was a Cylon. Now Adama seems to be the alcoholic.

A lot of people are speculating that Daniel, the unknown model, was actually Kara's father, so she could be the first hybrid. But your theory makes sense about how she could have found her own body. But I want her to be more than a cylon, and I don't know if even being a hybrid fits the bill. I just want her to be SOMETHING...
