BSG Daybreak Part One...

First off, I have to admit that I've given Dr. Who a shot because I needed to use up my Netflix Watch Instantly hours and wanted to try it... so I started with the Ninth Doctor and watched the first three eps and I'm in danger of being hooked. Or I am hooked. It was fun, and I like it, and possibly I'll post more about it later, but yeah..
Anyways, on to BSG.
So... I'm not sure what I'm supposed to think about all this. This ep is clearly leading to something, and I felt both excited but also puzzled by the flashbacks because on one hand -- ZAK AND KARA! AWESOME CUTENESS! -- and on the other, there's drunk!Lee chasing a bird. Really? Is that supposed to be a metaphor? Is Lee the bird in the gilded cage? Gah. I'm not sure what Laura's sisters dying brought to the story, other than me being excited about seeing MM with her lovely hair and not in a sickbed or mooning after Adama.
Speaking of Adama... I don't care. I honestly do not care about the man. I think the whole rescue mission came out of no where for him, and it's irresponsible to abandon the Fleet the way he is. All because of the picture on the wall? for real? I don't want Hera with the rebel Cylons either, but sending such a large contigency of people seems rather stupid and irresponsible towards the Fleet. Wouldn't there be less of a chance of getting caught if it was a covert op? Versus the battlestar that has been stripped for parts? That said, I laughed hard at the Kara/Adama scene because HE IS AN AWFUL FATHER. Kara's head!Father was way better.... and he wasn't real. So there you go.
I can accept Kara and Lee distancing themselves from each other and coming back to one another, because they'll be friends and concerned about each other, even though they haven't really had screentime together at all. But the Adama/Kara relationship died a long long time ago, for me, once she came back from New Caprica.
Also? Yay for Cylons other than the Final Five! But if Leoben is not in the finale, I will be pissed.
And Sam! With hair! And love of perfection. He's a detail man. Please bring Sam back. Seeing him in the tub hurts.
I adore Helo for his optimism, and honestly, Athena, get off your ass and get your kid back. Meanwhile, Chief was in the brig last week and no one mentioned it? Sheesh. At least this makes sense.
Random Kara love while she was laying down the tape. She's just so badass. And hot. Did I mention hot? Because she is. And Zak called her SIR! Is it weird that I think Zak and Sam would've totally gotten along?
And how much do I love that they sent out Skulls and Racetrack on what could've been a suicide mission... and that they've been in the brig all this time. It makes me happy because seriously, I'm still pissed at them. Stupid mutiny.
When they mentioned the naked singularity, did anyone else instantly think of SG-1? Sam Carter would totally be able to lead this mission. Just sayin'.
