Randomness...
Jul. 21st, 2008 05:53 pmSo as I mentioned, I was having a flare (yay chronic illness!) and the antibiotic they put me on made me sicker... or at the very least, more miserable. Bleah. Finally I called my doctor today and told his nurse that I can't be on it any more, since I spent the last night dry heaving which... not fun. Y'know how they say after you drink a lot, better out than in? Well, when you haven't drunk any or eaten much at all, better out is NOT necessarily better than better in.
I've been sore all day as a result, but am slowly feeling less nauseated and I have a bit more of an appetite.... and my doctor has decided I get to go BACK on steroids to get this under control (bleah again!) and then when I see him in August, he'll most likely put me on this scary medicine that's rather hard core, which my sister happens to be on as well. It can cause liver failure and other bad things unless you get your blood tested every month. But I'd rather have something that works well, than nothing, or resorting to these months of lovely remission (was it only two weeks ago?!?) and then 2 weeks of sudden death.
I just hope I get better in time to move next month, but that'll be something to discuss with my doctor since there's little point of going to grad school if I can't even make it to classes.
Gah.
That said, I've been watching a LOT of tv these past couple of weeks and was rewatching Skiffy's airing of "Children of the Gods" which totally cut out Sam's cool entrance but left IN the reproductive organs speech... sheesh. Also, random questions: Did Teal'c know Kawalsky was snaked? Because he totally had time to tell, since it was just SG-1 and Kawalsky there are the end... And why did Jack give Daniel the job of dialing? Why not someone who had memorized it, and could act under pressure? And honestly, why didn't EVERYONE memorize the address home? I mean, we're all taught as kindergartners to remember our streets and phone numbers, so clearly these smart people should do the same, right?
Honestly, season 1 does nothing to give me any Daniel love, so I'm not surprised that it took him so long to grow on me... and will someone please explain the appeal of fics where Jack is the dad and Daniel is suddenly five for no apparent reason? Like it's not even crazy alien hijinx gone awry, but it's just the actual setting of these fics. I'm so bewildered by that. And now "Icon" is on and there's no way I want to watch that.
And random aside for anyone who watches Psych as well as SG-1: Gus and Jack could have a grammar-a-thon together, whatever that might entail.
